Fiber Optic OTDR Launch Cable Box 1000m Optic fiber jump cable,OTDR Dead Zone Eliminator,Fiber Optic OTDR Launch cable box, fiber rings FC/SC/ST/LC(UPC/APC)

An OTDR launch cable, which connects the OTDR to the link-under-test, discloses the insertion loss and reflectance of the near-end connection. It is often available on a small spool or within a “launch box”, which is used to create the proper conditions for testing another similar optical fiber for faults. This method avoids undesirable variations in loss and distance measurements. A launch fiber will help to overcome the blind spot or Dead Zone of an OTDR brought about by high launch power or faults near the launch end of the fiber.

FAQ
A1: It is a critical OTDR accessory that eliminates the OTDR dead zone (the blind spot near the OTDR’s launch point) by providing a known length of fiber. This allows accurate measurement of the first connector, splice, or fault in the fiber under test, ensuring reliable OTDR trace results.
A2: Yes, the fiber type (SM/MM), core size, and modal field diameter (MFD) of the launch box must match the fiber under test to ensure measurement accuracy and compatibility with OTDR testing parameters.
A3: It supports fiber lengths from 100m to 2200m, including 100m, 150m, 500m, 1000m, 2000m, 2200m, with customizable lengths to meet different testing needs.
A4: Yes, it features a rugged SR polypropylene enclosure with IP54 dustproof and waterproof rating, operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, and auto purge valve for altitude/temperature changes—ideal for harsh outdoor and field environments.
A5: It supports universal connector types (SC, LC, FC, ST) with UPC/APC/PC polish options, which can be customized to match different OTDR models and fiber optic systems.
A6: It complies with ITU-T G.650.3, ITU-T G.652.D, ITU-T G.657.A, IEC 60793-2-10, Telcordia GR-326-Core, and RoHS directive, ensuring professional-grade performance and global compatibility.
